You read the lines that made you sad
And saw the days you never had.
You dreamt the dreams of long gone times
And heard a speech devoid of rhymes.
The things they say are in your head.
Like open books you're being read.
And people who are never there
Give advice for you to dare.
And now your mind is fading fast.
Your permanencies never last.
You know there's nowhere you can hide
When your life becomes a turning tide.
But still you had no regrets.
Still you remain impassive.
Emotion never lets
You see the turning tide.
